This past Friday, April 24, was Briar Cli5 first Symposium, where students showcased their work and were able to present their research to all students and faculty on-campus. Throughout the day, different students in different classrooms and with di5erent posters and projects, were able to present all of their work and explain it to everyone. There were di5erent time slots, starting at 9:00 am with a Keynote speaker at Newman Flanagan and following with 15 minutes presentations in multiple classrooms to 1 hour poster showcase in the Atrium of Heelan Hall. It was the first of many symposiums that Briar Cliff hosted.

The rivalry between Briar Cliff and Morningside once again delivered a competitive weekend, as the Chargers dropped three of four games in a four-game series. Despite the result, Briar Cliff showed flashes of dominance and left the weekend with a clear understanding of what needs to improve moving forward.

When I first applied for the NAIA Red Banner Internship Program through the NAIA website, I saw it as an opportunity to get a glimpse behind the scenes of something I had only experienced as an athlete. A week after my interview, I received an email that began with, “Congratulations!”—and in that moment, I knew I was about to be part of something special: the 2025–26 NAIA Women’s Basketball National Championship right here in Sioux City.

The rivalry between Briar Cliff University and Morningside University returned to the spotlight on Friday, as the two Sioux City programs met in a doubleheader that once again showcased the intensity, emotion, and competitiveness that defines this matchup.

For the Briar Cliff University women’s basketball team, the 2025-26  season was defined by a new face at the top and a young roster that proved it  could handle the pressure of the national stage. 

Briar Cliff University updated its artificial intelligence policy between the 2024–25 and 2025–26 school years, moving from a loosely defined approach to a clearer three stage system that allows professors to decide how AI is used in their classrooms. 

Briar Cliff University’s Annual Career and Internship Fair, held on March 25, brought together a diverse group of employers and students for a day of networking and career exploration.

Briar Cliff University will close Baxter Hall at the end of the semester for summer renovations, while also introducing a new $150 housing damage deposit for students living on campus.
